Of course then you will realize all too soon that Roxette is a very famous, very popular Swedish band who have created pearls of songs with familiar titles such as The Look, Joyride, Listen to your Heart, It must have been love ...

Their songs have put a stamp on commercial pop music and has been used in movies, commercials, and has been repeatedly been played on radiostations throughout the world. They are popular still, with a steady fanbase caring for them. They are very open towards their fans and take time to talk to them, give them information and be around them.

A lot of people wrongfully think that Roxette is a relic from the '80's. True, their origins dates back to the 1980's where Per Gessle and Marie Fredriksson have each other for the first time and decided to start up a little band called Roxette. It's true that their first songs date back from that era as well.

But most of the Roxette songs became huge hits in the 1990's, dominating almost a decade of the Swedish music industry. There is not a single artist more popular over there than Per Gessle, and Marie can easily stand on her own as well with beautiful solo work that is both haunting and intense.

Roxette has scored a couple of hits in the years 2000 as well, but unfortunately in 2001, Marie became seriously ill and all their plans came to an abrupt end while she struggled to survive. For years the fans have wondered what has become of her, hoping year after year that she would return. In meantime Per Gessle has not sat still and has recorded personal albums with which he toured, mostly in Sweden. Marie, when recovering, also recorded some new material and has shown how resilient she is.

And now, after almost eight years of Roxette-silence, they are back ... !
